The term “Apprenticeship program” means a program that teaches basic technical and job readiness skills for a designated apprentice occupation or occupational sector, to prepare participants a career in  the quality area.

WHAT IS THE  QUALITY TECHNICIAN, APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM?

·         36 hours of related technical instruction contact hours: Online

·         84 hours of study: Off-line, (equal to 5 hrs / Month)

·         168 OJT project implementation (OJT)

·         3712 hrs of work related process hours (OJT)
 

  • Quality Technicians can gain actual experience while working on a jointly-selected business project with their current employer approval, up to 168 hrs.

WHAT ARE RELATED QUALITY TECHNICAL INSTRUCTION (RTI)

  • NEXUS will work with your current employer to develop the training plan that is most appropriate for the quality technician apprentice.

  • There is a minimum of 288 workshop hours, 5 skills, 31 quality elements to complete within 18 months. Note: once apprentice obtain the 288 hrs, all hours worked will be credited toward their Work Related hours of 3,712.
     

IS IT A CREDENTIALED PROGRAM

  • At the end of the apprenticeship (288 hrs), all apprentices will receive an industry-recognized certificate of completion. At the end if the apprenticeship (4,000 hrs), the Quality Tech Apprenticeship will receive a national credential certificate
     

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS?

  • be at least 16 years old. (18+ for approved funding, 21+ Preferred)

  • have a high school diploma, GED, or college degree

  • be a u.s. citizen or hold permanent residency status

  • be able to physically and mentally do the occupational quality tasks and learning
